The second intermediate meeting of the SUS-MIRRI.IT project took place on January 20, 2025, in Rome. The project, funded with approximately 17 million euros from EU under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, is coordinated by the University of Turin, and involves 24 Operational Units spread across Italy. The project aims to strengthen the Italian network of microbial collections, MIRRI-IT, for the preservation and exploitation of the biotechnological potential of microbial biodiversity. The Institute of Biomolecular Chemistry (Pozzuoli, Naples), coordinated by Dr. A. Poli, participates in the project with the collection of extremophilic bacteria and microalgae (OU06). During the meeting, Dr. M. Vittoria explained the progress of the activities of UO 06 in the various WPs. The SUS-MIRRI.IT project now is focusing on the long- term sustainability of the MIRRI-IT National Node by stabilizing the personnel hired across the various OU.
