The ICB is engaged in the study of biodiversity, even in extreme environments, of various macro and microorganisms through isolation techniques, taxonomic identification and biochemical characterization. In this context, the Institute is interested in:

• Sustainable processes for the capture and exploitation of carbon dioxide;
• Design and synthesis of nanostructured materials and systems for the treatment of environmental pollution;
• Environmental biotechnologies.
