The ICB research site of Catania, formerly ISSN (Institute for the Study of Natural Substances of Food and Chemical-Pharmaceutical Interest) was established in 2003 following the reorganization of the CNR network. It boasts twenty years of experience in the field of chemical research of natural substances of biological interest. The research site is located in the Catania Research Area, together with five other CNR institutes. The staff of the Catania laboratory is made up of 31 personnel structured units (23 researchers, 2 technologists, 4 technical collaborators, 2 administratives) and a variable number of temporanery fellows, postdocs, trainees, associates and private companies collaborators. The institute also hosts students for carrying out experimental degree theses and doctoral internships under the supervision of its researchers and the assistance of its technical staff.
