The Institute of Biomolecular Chemistry (ICB) is characterized by a remarkable cultural homogeneity and an extensive territorial distribution: the Institute is based in Pozzuoli (Naples) but also has secondary offices in Catania, Padova and Sassari.
Overall, the staff is made up of more than 200 units (CNR personnel: 115; over 100 external personnel).
The headquarters of the ICB is in Pozzuoli (Naples, former Institute for the Chemistry of Molecules of Biological Interest, 51 units of CNR staff).
The secondary offices are at:
- Catania, former Institute for the Study of Natural Substances of Food and Chemical-Pharmaceutical Interest, 25 units of CNR personnel;
- Padova, former Center for the Study of Biopolymers, 5 units of CNR personnel;
- Sassari, former Institute for the Application of Advanced Chemical Techniques to Agrobiological Problems, 34 staff units.
