With great pleasure, we wish to inform you that a Special Issue of Molecules (IF 4.6) on the subject of “Innovations in the Use of Peptides and Proteins for Medical Applications” has been launched.
This Special Issue aims to showcase recent progress in the design, characterization, and biomedical use of peptides and proteins as therapeutic and diagnostic agents.
The Special Issue will collect original research articles, short communications, and reviews addressing innovative approaches to peptide and protein synthesis and/or isolation, structural and conformational characterization, and functional optimization to enhance stability, bioavailability, and target selectivity. Topics will include peptide–protein interactions, protein folding and misfolding, and the relevance of both of these topics to human disease. Contributions focusing on smart delivery platforms, self-assembling peptides, and protein-based nanostructures for diagnostic, imaging, and therapeutic applications are particularly encouraged.
Both experimental and computational studies that support translational research are welcome.
Submission Deadline: 30 September 2026
