Marco Allarà
Experience & Activities
Marco Allarà was born in Naples on 10-11-1986, he began working at ICB-CNR in Pozzuoli in 2006. At the end of 2009 he was hired by the Epitech Group company and continued his activity in the field of cellular biology. In 2012 he obtained a degree in Industrial Biotechnology, discussing a thesis on the metabolism of PEA. Over the years he participated in the management and organizational activities of the ICB and acquired skills in various fields such as: ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY, LC-MS and LC-MS/MS analysis of small molecules. Management and maintenance of instruments, Extraction of biomolecules from human and animal fluids and tissue, Purification of bioactive lipids on silica gel, Enzyme activity assays using radiolabeled precursors, Binding assays
ORGANIC CHEMISTRY: Phospholipid synthesis of N-acylphosphatidylethanolamines Synthesis of radiolabeled and non-radiolabeled diacylglycerols (DAG) Medium and long chain N-acylethanolamines Synthesis of N-acyl amino acids
MOLECULAR BIOLOGY Extraction of proteins from different types of cells and tissues Purification of recombinant proteins.
In 2020 he obtained a Master’s Degree in Drug Biotechnology, discussing a thesis on the role of PEA in neuroinflammation. In March 2025 he was hired by the ICB in the role of CTER VI level.
